Helping Haiti

Over the past week we, like may of you I am sure, have spent time in conversation regarding Haiti. We cannot help to reflect on what we have in our homes and how we truly cannot understand what the past 12 days have been like for so many people. Each night we pray with the boys asking God to give peace to the little children how don't have a mommy or daddy anymore or any food or water to drink. As we do that, we tuck our own little ones into warm clean sheets surrounded by more toys and books then they could ever need.

There are not only those who need to find the forgiveness and grace that comes from knowing Jesus Christ in Haiti but there are so many Christians who have also lost everything and need help in rebuilding churches and resources so they as the people of Haiti can reach out to their own.

"Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." Galatians 6:10

We found this organization last night that is reaching out to the Church in Haiti and we want to be a part of helping them. I thought we would share it all with you and as we look back on our blog in the years to come we pray that we are always reminded of the need to help others...especially those who also love the Lord.

Thanks Christina and Brett for this post and referral to this organization. It's a great point you make about helping out the churches and Christian organizations. They have been there long before and will be there long after the main disaster relief organizations leave. It will take the church as a body to rebuild and restore Haiti into a Christ centered nation. We'll check the website out to see how we can help......Thanks! -Serg
