Josh and Mac - early in the season after some backyard practice wearing their 2012 London Olympic clothing. |
This has been the summer of soccer for our family.
Joshua has played travel soccer for the past year and has done a really good job.
He has worked hard and has been part of a really nice team of boys.
This was the first weekend tournament- cold, wet and very windy!
Thank goodness we have some great friends on his team .
Brenna and Andrew ready for some rain at a Lockport game.
One of the best things to do after soccer is go out for ice cream.
We have eaten a lot of ice cream this year!
The second tournament of the year was in honor of the man that had founded Brett's Club Team he grew up playing on. So it was special that years later Joshua got to compete in it and WIN!!!
Of course of the way home from the big weekend win we went out for ice cream again.
The third tournament was in Rochester were we stayed for the weekend. The boys played really well..and we even managed to get a few hours of sleep that night after a group team pizza party in the hotel lobby and freezing cold swimming.
Finally the season ended with the Niagara Pioneer Cup Tournament. It was nice to be so close to home for the games. Here is Joshua getting ready to set up his penalty kick.
…and he scored!!
Its a long standing tradition to run the hill (incidentally where we also sled in the winter) after the games. All day long there were teams up and down this hill.
Matthew played house league this year - he had some awesome games. One game the team won 8-0 and Matthew scored ALL 8 of the goals. Tonight they won 3-0 and he scored ALL 3 goals.
Matthew even had a special arrive from Paca - FIFA World Cup Gear!
He was super excited for all the fun stuff that showed up that day.
This year was Brenna's first year playing soccer. She has been out on these fields since she was about 7 days old and finally her turn to wear a jersey came. If you can tell from these pictures Brenna's soccer year was very much about socialization!! She loved being out with her friends and knew someone on every other team that she played against.
Brenna and the 2 Sophia's - neighbors on either side of us |
Tonight was the final game for Matthew and Brenna and what did we do--you guessed it .
Ice cream again this time in town where we hung out with lots of little soccer people everywhere.

Wow! Love the British jerseys. Glad you ate lots of ice cream!!! Congrats to each if your for your medals! I sure hope Brenna got some donuts. That hill running tradition sounds pretty bad... Aren't you tired after your games?
Loved the pictures. We love you!!
