Road Trip Part 3 - Goshen, IN

This past week took us back to the Midwest to visit my family.  I always love making this trip - love the vastness of the corn and bean fields, love seeing the farms and pointing out landmarks of my childhood to my own children.

We started by visiting Grandma and Grandpa Cripe in Goshen - unfortunately I did not get any photos of Grandpa this time but we did get to visit him twice.

The kids requested that we go back to the Goshen Soda Shop that we went to last February when we made this trip - they had their meals all picked out and really wanted to show daddy the pie list!

The next morning we took Grandma out for breakfast for fried mush and huge Amish size pancakes to the Das Essenhause.   This is always a treat for her and I am so glad that we got to make her happy.

After leaving and saying goodbye, filled with lots of hugs and promises of another visit,
we loaded up again and set off for the 3 hour drive down small country roads
through the fields of corn to central Indiana

This picture is very UNLIKE my childhood - no headphones and DVD's back then.
