First Run

Daddy and Joshua went out for their first run together today. Joshua has really liked running and on the way to church this morning he told us he is planning on running a Half Marathon this summer. Brett wisely though they should start out with a 5K perhaps, you know.....as a first race.

So, the training has begun. When they got to the end of the driveway Joshua spontaneously bent down, right in the street, and started doing push-ups as part of his warm up. He then did a few high knee kicks and was finally ready to go. They ran 2 miles and when he got home he asked for a milkshake (vanilla)!

Now ...To the Stairs

Every Sunday, it seems like Brenna tries something new. Today is was venturing up the stairs. Thankfully she only got up a few but I am sure by the end of the week she will have mastered the whole flight.

First Denist Visit

Uncle Brent would be proud. No cavities in this mouth!! Matthew had his first dentist with Dr. Ruocco. We all went there as children...even Brett's family went there...so we have had to continue the tradition of bring our children there. Mac did really well..liked drinking from the cup and spitting! What more could a 3 1/2 year old ask for.

The Space Show

Today was Joshua's Space Show. He preformed lots of songs that he has been singing around the house for weeks! We all got to go to school today to watch the show and then as a special treat we all ate lunch together in the cafeteria. It was such a fun morning!!

Pulling Up -10 Months Old

After church this week Brenna crawled over the window and figured out how to get herself up. She banged on that window for the longest time and was so proud of herself until her little legs got tired and she fell backwards.
A little while later I caught her on camera upstairs at the railings.

Time for Tools

Daddy has been busy passing the late winter nights away building 2 little work benches in the basement. He first fixed up his own then set to work on little models of the big one. The boys have been thrilled with them. For the past month there have been lots of nights Brenna and I play upstairs and listen to the little chatter of boys voices as they are "working" on some things. They each have their own tools, clamps, safety glasses and "ear muffs" as they call them. Brett has really enjoyed his time down there with them and I think they are working on some surprise projects for this spring! I will keep you all posted on what creations come out of the basement.

She's Been Found Out

For the last week when Joshua comes home from school he has been wondering who has been messing with his Fort. Of course Matthew has been questioned heavily in this matter but claims innocence.

Well, today I was able to capture proof in who the real culprit is. Yep, since little Brenna realized she could crawl this week she makes an immediate run for The Fort as soon as we sit her down. How can we get upset with this little face. Matthew is just glad he is not to blame!

First Ice-Skating Adventure

Yesterday we went to Lincoln Park Arena with Uncle Keith, Aunt Tara and Tristan ice-skating for the afternoon. Tristan was a pro out there ...he has been taking lessons and just headed out around the rink with no fear. Joshua did great for his first time out on a "real" ice skating rink - no frozen pond stuff here...it was a lot smoother he thought. Matthew was a bit scared at first but thankfully they had "walkers" that he could use and after an hour or so of getting comfortable on the ice he was out there on his own with a bit of help from daddy!
