First Day of Preschool

Today was Joshua's first day of preschool. He was up before 6am totally excited. We packed his Diego backpack the night before and he helped pick out yogurt and grapes to put in his rocket-ship lunch box for snack. We were so glad to meet Mrs. Kilmer (Miss Pam) this year and allow Joshua the chance to be taught by her. There are 6 children in the program and they will spend time learning Bible stories, how to pray, ABC's and all their 123's. Joshua is also excited to learn to read this year and she will spend lots of 'phonics" time with him.

Joshua was not shy about posing for pictures this morning - check out below!

I have to admit the sad one today was definitly Matthew. He cried the whole way home - wanting his Brother so badly. When we got home he did some craft time which helped disctract him - thanks Nana England for the great art smock!

Family Picnic

This weekend we had a family picnic out at Brett's aunt and uncles house. Unfortunately his aunt ended up in the hopspital so they missed their own party. We had fun letting the cousins play and fish.

The Boys Provide Entertainment at Target...

Tonight I took the boys to get some new goggles at Target because we are off to New Hampshire this weekend to visit our best friends who moved a few months ago...anyway we may be heading to the beach so we needed to be prepared.

They had lots of fun picking out their green and blue goggles but were pretty insistent that they actually wear them in the store. So there I am, both boys in the cart, wearing swim goggles. Matthew then ,who is not shy at all, proceeded to tell everyone that we passed in a very loud voice "Look at me guys - we going swimming ...with goggles."

We were definitely the entertainment of the store - there were lots of people laughing at their little squinty eyes in goggles.

Colorado Vacation 2008

We just returned from a fabulous week in Colorado. What a beautiful state. Some favorite quotes of the week started as soon as we left Denver on a pretty Sunday morning...

1. Look dad...."big giant mountains"...that continued from little Matthew's mouth about 100 times that trip...he is still looking in New York for all those mountains

2. "Quick get my camera"...that came from Joshua who had 2 very special cameras for the trip...1 for land and 1 for under water...quite cool for a 4 year old

We flew into Denver and drove 7 (well that was how long it was supposed to be but it took us like 11) hours to Telluride- we took a very scenic route and Brett was able to experience his first trout fishing in CO - he was in heaven. We also saw some beautiful animals and did some off-roading though a cattle ranch.

When we arrived we were greeted by Nana England and Brian Lauren with Emily and Lizzie. Throughout the week more arrived, we were thrilled to see Dan and Renee with little Lydia and Stephanie and Jon and Paca.

We loved all our "people mover" rides (the free gondola that connected Telluride and Mountain Village) and hikes, biking, horseback riding and LOTS of fishing - everyone got in on that actions. Brett became the fishing guide of the week - even offering kids adventures to the children's pond in the resort with huge beautiful rainbow trout and all the little ones got a chance to catch one - and have a few lines snap because the fish were so big.

It was a wonderful trip and so much fun to take an adventure as a family. We are thankful we were able to do this this summer. The next trip we hope to have all 6 brothers and sisters and families!!
